Support The Roads to Reading

Welcome to the Support Roads to Reading Site. This site will provide you with many ways to make a donation to the Roads to Reading Initiative. On this site, you can learn more about Roads to Reading, find ways to volunteer your time and talent, donate new children's books, donate storage space, and support the Roads to Reading Initiative monetarily. Come in and take a look around; there is something for everyone to do and many ways to participate. When people think of giving, they often think in terms of money. Money is great and we all need it. Let us show you other ways in which you can help.

Volunteering Your Time and Talent

Our organization is an all volunteer organization and we need helping hands. By donating only 10 to 20 hours a month, you can help us maintain our website, write and edit publications, help us maintain our book inventory, or help pack books for shipping. You may have very special talents in fundraising and want to make a contribution that way. If you a professional accountant or attorney you can provide our organization with specified number of pro-bono hours per year. There is something for everyone to do and all talent levels are welcome to participate in the growth of the Roads to Reading Initiative. Our organization is a true grass-roots organization whose mission is to provide quality reading materials to children and organizations that serve in underserved communities.

Donate New Books

Our initiative is always in need of new children’s books. We donate over 100,000 per year. If you are a self-publishing author of children’s book and you would like to donate 10 to 1,000 copies of your work, that is one way to contribute. We will also accept the donation of new books from remainder dealers and publishers of children's books. Each book that is donated to our organization enables us to support an established program and expand our programming.

Donating Storage in the Greater Boston Area

The cost of paying for storage is one of our larger expenses. From time to time, we have more books coming in and we need a place to store them. We need to have a safe, dry and accessible space to store books. It is important to have a safe and dry storage space so that we can take books in as they become available from publishers.

Monetary Donation

All non-profits need monetary donations to support programming and operational expenses. Your donation to the Roads to Reading Initiative, Inc. helps support both our programming and operational expenses.
